Awards

Groups & Lines earned over $20K in Future Shop Gift Cards for teachers and Studio Directors.
Additionally, every dancer received an Individual Award.
Rhythm believes in giving back!
|
We have, and always will use an award system that recognizes hard work and talent. We announce scores and place 1st to 4th. Our Advanced dancers compete against each other for the highest score. However, we provide a Performance category for the less experienced dancer who trains 6 hours or less per week to compete against his or her own personal best.
Each class, Novice, Performance and Advanced compete for overall awards within their own class. We will no longer award just 1st to 4th in the larger Advanced categories. Rhythm Dance will present every dancer with an award. Every dancer who competes on the Rhythm stage will be recognized. Each individual dancer receives an award and along with this, instead of a studio award of a trophy or plaque for the groups and lines, Rhythm Dance presents Future Shop Gift Certificates valued at $15 for first, $10 for second and $5 for third and fourth place. This is a greater financial return to the studio rather than trophies or plaques. |
Special Awards are done at each awards session (6 times daily) along with a Judges Choice Award of $20 and Choreography Award for that session.
Overall Awards (presented when the category is final. We have too much respect for your time to make you wait until the last day for the overalls to be presented) Rhythm Dance honours all ties, except with the Rhythm Cups, Super Star and Rhythm Rookie.
The following overall awards and cash scholarships are presented every weekend (based on a 500+ entry location.) The number of awards in each category is based on a ratio grid.
